Hi, I’m Aeriel!
My journey into motherhood started out very unexpectedly. Me and my husband had been married for just under a year, me having just gotten a job working for the state (of Texas)- on a very typical state salary, might I add- and my husband having just lost his job. To say that we were unprepared would be an understatement! At the time, I hadn’t given much thought about a lot of the actual details that need to be determined when becoming a parent- I thought I had a few more years to figure this out! I was, however, fairly certain I wanted my baby’s birth to be natural. I really didn’t know what that would entail, but as I went through my pregnancy and the delivery of my daughter, I learned so much! I dealt with multiple challenges along the way including navigating dealing with new and/or unsupportive medical professionals and managing gestational diabetes- to say nothing about the challenges I faced once my daughter arrived! Through it all, God has been faithful and given me lots of strength and grace along the way!
Motherhood overall has been a huge learning curve for me, but because of the challenges I’ve faced and my passion for helping people-especially women!- I wanted to start sharing my experiences and the things that I’ve learned along the way. Whether you’re a new or soon to be mom, or you’ve been livin’ the mom life for several years, I would love to help and connect with you! Welcome to my world!
A bit about me-
I love Jesus and spending time with my family, binge-watching Frasier and the Office (basically anything to do with the 90s and early 2000s), laughing with and at my kids :)- and helping other people. You’re not alone mama! If you need help, advice, or just want to connect with someone who knows the joys and the struggles, you’ve come to the right place! Let’s do this thang!
This mom thing is the most amazingly difficult job you’ll ever have. It can be hard sometimes, but you don’t have to feel alone! I created this blog to talk about all things mom-life: the good, the bad, and the ugly! So if you want the skinny on mom-hood, with a side of humor- you’ve come to the right place!
