Faith Over Frustration: Finding Clarity, Focus, and Peace in Motherhood
I used to think that if I could just get more organized, I’d finally feel at peace. That if I had the perfect routine, the right to-do list, or a little more time in my day, I’d feel in control. But the truth?
Motherhood isn’t about control. It’s about surrender.
Surrendering control doesn’t mean giving up—it means leaning in. Specifically leaning into God’s plan instead of my own. Leaning into His strength instead of trying to run on empty. Leaning into faith in daily life over frustration.
I didn’t always get this. There was a time when I approached my days the way I approached my faith—checking off the boxes.
Read my Bible? ✅
Prayed? ✅
Got my daughter to bed (after she listed every excuse in the world)? ✅
But my heart wasn’t truly present. I was doing things for God instead of doing them with Him.
It wasn’t until life forced me to slow down that I realized my time with God wasn’t something I should squeeze in between chaos—it was the foundation that kept me from crumbling under it.
How Trusting God Transformed My Approach to Motherhood
I remember praying for a way to leave my job. I was working 50-60+ hours a week, exhausted, and missing so much of my daughter’s life. I wanted out. But in my mind, that meant I’d leave when I had everything figured out—when my income was replaced, my plans were solid, and I felt ready.
But God didn’t call me to leave when it was comfortable. He called me to trust.
And that’s exactly what my husband and I did.
After my maternity leave with my son ended, my husband and I made the decision that I wouldn’t go back to work. There was no backup plan and no guaranteed income. Just a leap of faith, trusting that God would provide.
Instead of clocking in, I started this blog—Mama Unrehearsed—the one God had laid on my heart years before. For so long, I pushed it aside, thinking one day I’d have the time, confidence, and financial security to make it work. But God was telling me now.
Little did I know at the time that this shift wasn’t just about getting to stay home with my babies or having more control over my time. It was about sanctification. It was about stripping away my self-reliance and shaping me into the image of Jesus. It was about learning to depend on Him, not just in the big moments but in the daily ones—the ordinary, unseen moments of motherhood where surrendering control is just as much an act of faith as any major life decision.
It hasn’t been easy. There have been moments of doubt, fear, and days where I questioned if I made the right choice. But looking back, I wouldn’t change a thing. Because what I gained—peace, purpose, and a deeper relationship with the Lord—is worth more than anything I left behind.
Why Faith & Focus Planner Was Created for Moms Like You
And now, here I am—watching my son in the middle of the workday, living the life I once thought was impossible. Not because I figured it all out, but because God made a way.
But let me be honest—running a business at home hasn’t been a cakewalk. It’s so easy to get caught up in the overwhelm of motherhood, the never-ending to-do lists, and the pressure to be everything to everyone. Some days, I still find myself trying to control every detail instead of surrendering it all to God.
“The Faith & Focus Planner, a tool to help Christian mothers focus on their faith and family, was created for moms like you” This planner has not just helped me do more but to focus on what matters most—God, my family, and being present in the life He’s given me.
